LVG CVI, German observer, 1918 Aircrew:
Unknown Classic Planes Vac kit

Being a vac kit, all details, including the
engine and interior, needed to be scratchbuilt.

The colorful 'lozenge' fabric camouflage
was airbrushed through a series of hand-cut stencils. Again the markings are from custom- made waterslide decals.

SIEMENS-SCHUCKERT DIII, German
fighter, 1918 Pilot: Ernst Udet Pegasus injected styrene kit

The 'business end' of the DIII. 'LO'
was the nickname of the pilot's fiance. It was common practice for German fighter pilots to decorate their planes thusly,
though the bright red coloring was reserved for only the cockiest pilots.

The underside of the DIII displays the
colorful 'lozenge' pattern fabric often seen on German aircraft in WWI. The struts are fashioned from photo- etched
nickel silver for strength and uniformity.
